Newly created matrix items display incorrectly in list

Hi,
   We are noticing what seems to be a new problem with matrix items and the way they display in search results / PO's / Sales orders.  We are seeing this format for the child item in the list view when we use the matrix wizard to create a new matrix:

Parent part number : Child part number
Notice the colon between them.

If we look back at matrix items created a few weeks back via CSV load, they are not doing this.  The child item just shows as a separate line in the search results underneath the parent, indented as we would expect:
