NS Generated barcodes - Not readable by scanners if item name is too long?

Hello everyone,

Just checking to see if anyone has run into similar problems with item barcoding and if there is a workaround.
The problem is, NS auto generates barcodes based off of the item name. With this, all item names that have more than 20 or so characters are not readable when printed on a 4.25" label that has the barcode maxed out at 4". Once I resize the label and barcode to something outrageous like 8" in width and print on a test sheet of standard sized paper, the scanner reads it fine. I've played around with many PDF layouts and nothing seems to work with 4" wide labels, and using any other larger sized labels will look goofy. Does anyone
