Web services - The Dreaded Thursday Night 'Updates'

So today (AU - Friday arvo.. USA Thursday 'NS update night') web services failed for us.

I estimate the minimum cost in lost sales approx $10,000.00 (actual sales where a salesperson might have spent time with a client and had goods ready to transact - not potential 'online sales') at least only over a few hours & MANY PISSED OFF CUSTOMERS  STAFF + EVEN MORE GREY HAIR FOR ME
