Home page annoyance

When logging on, a client record loads instead of my dashboard. Clearing cache and all cookies fails to load homepage on subsequent log ins. Deleting offending record is not an option. I cannot locate a preference setting to fix this but am probably overlooking someplace to do this. Please advise, I'm tired of looking at the same record every day!!
