Remove Item in Scriptable Cart

Hello,
I've got a scenario where I'd like to remove an item from the cart based on the item just added.

I'm trying to use the scriptable cart for this rather than my usual hacks since I need to do some other things for which the scriptable cart would be perfect (if I can get everything else to work)

Has anyone been able to do this? If so in what event? I've come up with a couple of things so far in the recalc event - they all work when my cart script is used for the NS GUI Client Script but it's looking like the recalc event isn't called for the web site shopping cart or doesn't update the cart display.
