convert prospect to client via script

Hi
For one type of client, we issue estimates that get approved which then makes them a "client". We wish to perform an action eg checking a checkbox once all checks have been made that we convert the prospect to a client.

Can anyone advise how we do this via a script? I guess we use the "Field Change" but what kind of function could perform to do the actual conversion?
