Custom Record showing the wrong field in Global Search

I created a custom record type that seems to be working well,

However when I use global search, or try to attach the custom records to entity records, it uses an ID field instead of the text field that it should use.

I.E. when I search for 268000-000 (a license key) I see a list of record ID's in the global search results list and not the Text from the field.

I checked the field to see that it was included in global search and if I enter a proper key it does return,  but using the ID and not the text from the Free-from Text field.
