Opportunities & Item Options

Hi there.

I am having a problem with entering items in on the opportunities screen.  Whenever I enter an item that has options on the opportunities screen it does not allow me to enter in options.  The item number can be entered but if that item number has options the options column does not populate with anything.  And it allows you to enter the line item in without throwing an error which causes problems now and for any orders that get processed with that opportunity.

Please help.
