Drip marketing with 2008.1 search feature

I have been playing around in the newly available beta all morning - and I still can't quite figure out how exactly you can set up a true "drip marketing" system using the new saved search feature.

More specifically - can you send out a campaign using such a system?  Ideally we want to be able to send HTML formatted campaigns out to (for example) leads after 7 days of inactivity....

But from what I'm seeing I am limited as to how long the emails can be?  Am I not getting this?
