Perform financial transactions against a Partner?

Hello,

I searched the forums and didn't see this previously posted. It seems that with the latest version upgrade (May 2008), we lost our direct ability to write a check to a Partner. We have to make them Vendors.

There used to be a "Financial" tab with transaction history associated with Partners (the same way it is for Customers, Vendors, Employees and presumably other entity types).

Did something change with the nature of the Partner record? I may be completely missing something.
