Custom Item Fields - Rich Text - Now Ouputting Line Breaks as <br> ?

I have custom item fields deployed in my site for display tabs. These are currently set for Rich-text format. Prior to the release of 8.2, the system would not add line break tags (<br>) to the text. Now with 8.2 it is.

I have confirmed in my setup that "Output Line Breaks as <br>" is unchecked, yet it appears to be doing it on all occurences of this custom field. Unfortunately I have quite a bit of data in this custom field, so I cannot simply change it.

As an example: The code in this field may read as follows:
