Close/Open Multiple Periods - Manage Accounting Period

I am currently undergoing a multi-year audit for my company, which has taken a year to date!  Since this audit spans multiple years, I have been opening past periods (i.e. Dec 2006) and making some adjusting journal entries, and then closing the period back up.  This opening and closing process use to take me a minute.

With the new closing check list, this process now takes me close to an hour and I have to keep doing this!  Is there anyway to open/close multiple periods, similar to how things were before?  I already logged in a call to Netsuite support, which was a waste of an hour.
