Upgrade Bug: Can't Link to Opportunity

Since the upgrade I can no longer link/associate a Sales Order with an Opportunity (unless I'm creating the SO from the Opp).

For example:

1) go to customer record
2) click 'create new sales order'
3) try to select an opportunity from the dropdown list

No opportunities are listed even though they exist for that account.

The is a major problem because we have scripts that create an opportunity record for every webstore sales order and link them together... but since the upgrade this is broken.  Consequently, customers cannot process their orders in our webstore without seeing the error message and halting all other aftersubmit scripts on the sales order process.
