STD costing implementation

Hi;

Did anyone try to implement the new 2011.2 STD costing functionality? I looked at it and was amazed (shouldn't really) to find that releasing this functionality, Netsuite does not offer a transition process to implement it. Apparently STD cost can not be implemented on existing items. It is available for new items only. What it means is that a company that would like to implement, would have to go through the painful process of redefining all their items, thus losing continuity/history. The suggested way is to rename existing items first and create new ones with the same name as it
