nlapisendemail now includes Employee ID

I am curious why Netsuite made the change so that when nlapisendemail is used in a script, the From person on the email is now including the employee id?  For example, what used to come from "John Doe", now comes from "00037 John Doe".  I don't remember reading about this change in the documentation about 2014.1.

Is this something I need to change on the Employee record?
