Release 2014.2 Webservice WSDL

We are still using an old WSDL (2010.1) and want to test out the next Release 2014.2 with it.  Can we do that?
(Our webservices are written in C# and heavily used for lead capture)
Should we attempt to upgrade our WSDL before the Release 2014.2 or would that be developer suicide?!!
