Order Level Handling Based on Specific Items

edited Nov 25, 2019 10:42AM in Accounting / ERP

Hi,

I have the requirement to add a flat handling charge to a sales order if one or more specific inventory items are in the line items of the sales order.

Example:
An order contains the following line items:
- 1 inventory item which requires the special handling
- 1 other inventory item which requires the special handling
- 1 inventory item which does not require the special handling

Expectations:
The handling should be at the order level (applied only once) and not added per line item.
All other shipping calculations should remain in effect.

I have several questions.

1. The existing, out of the box functionality of NetSuite does not appear to allow for this using Shipping Items. Is that correct or did I completely miss something?

Howdy, Stranger!
