Promo code on Line item level?

hi,
I am looking to give a discount on line item level within a same order,
ie. give discount if the diso**** is within a category , and not within entire order.
So if i have Cat 1 and Cat 2. the prods within Cat 1 get discount if number of prods is greater than 1,
Similarly for Cat 1,
This is to promote related products,
Pl. advice how can i create this promo code in NS?
