Retrieving current authenticated users Netsuite entity id?

Hi,

We have a customer portal website that authenticates our customers against Netsuite via Web Services. Is there a way with to return the user's Netsuite id to collect their details once logged in? or a more direct way?

Without an id I cannot open the contact records via web services.
