Override Web Store Default Currency

I saw this in the help and tried it with no success. Anyone have any luck with this?

Currency URL Parameter for Web Store

If you use the Multiple Currencies Feature, you can include a url parameter to auto-select a currency other than the default. You can use this url parameter for any page of your web store including any domains you have set up and promotional urls.

Depending on where you are specifying this url parameter you may have to preface it with a question mark(?) or an ampersand(&) or neither:
