Passing ItemID to site

I have an external site to present our products to customers but we want to use the NetSuite site to process the shopping cart. Can we pass an ItemID to the shopping cart so the user doesn't have to go through the entire catalog. Example: A user clicks 'Buy Now' on ITEM123 of the external site. Can we pass a link like http://shopping.netsuite.com/testsite/default.htm?ItemID=ITEM123 so that item is automatically in the cart?
