Item name/code vs Display Name/code on website

Hello all, i hope you can give me some ideas about item name/code vs display name/code.  We have begun to use the display name/code for our customers online when they make a purchase.  Everything looks fine (item name, items in shopping cart, review and submit order page) as they all show the display name/code, with the exception of the Thank you confirmation page.  Somehow in this page the actual item name/code is displayed instead of display name/code.  Anywhere i can change this to display the displayed name/code instead?  Any help will be much appreciated.
