Add to Cart issue

Hello, since the 2007 upgrade we are having a problem with the add to cart feature.  Normally in the product listing page where it lists like 30 products on one page when a customer clicks on the add to cart button it will give a message that said "Quantity in Cart: 1" to show that the item has been added.  However, right now if a customer attempts to add another item on the page the "Quantity in Cart: 1" message still remains showing under the 1st item and no message is shown for the item the customer just added.  Please advise.
