How Do I add more featured Items and/or Specials to Welcome Page?

NS NOOB here -

I have not been able to find how to display more Featured and/or Specials to the Welcome page. (currently set as our landing page.)

Currently it only allows 4 items from Feaured items and none from Specials.
I would like to increase the default for feaured items and also specials items to that page.

Any ideas?
