Sending info to shopping cart from a configuration tool

Folks,

I'm in the process of building a graphical configurator/design tool for our products. Something where a user can define the dimensions of their room and then drag and drop items into the room to design it.

This tool can produce a BOM very easily, and I would like to have a one button "send to cart" option that will take that BOM and create a cart in NS.

First of all, is this possible? Second, will I need to put a second mortgage on my house to make this happen?
