301 redirects

We are due to be re-designing and slightly re-organising our site and therefore will have some dedundant categories.

Now of course for maintaining our search engine rankings i want to redirect these existing categories to new ones.

My question is will the redirects function in Netsuite handle this and does this appear as a 301 redirect to search engines???
