Multi-Stores and SEO

Is it possible to to share items and categories with multi-stores but have different set of Meta-Tags, Page Titles?

Without a different set of SEO tags, google will most likely penalize us for duplicate content. Pages with duplicate content do not get indexed. That means only 1 site can get any natural traffic.

Any ideas?
