product parent child relationship
i am clothing retailer that is transitioning to netsuite from another system.
every 6 months, I get an entirely new set of products (typically about 2,000). Each product has multiple sizes - so say, size 6, size 8, size 10 and size 12.
with my prior system, I created a "parent" product, say girlshirt001, and built a CSV with a column that had a reference to each size (6,8,10,12 etc). When I imported the CSV, the system automatically generated the "child" products based on the reference, ie girlshirt001-001, girlshirt001-002, etc.
ONce this was complete, I could go add my inventory numbers to the "child" product (on 1 page or through another import) and be ready to go.
