Display Custom Field Only If...

in Web Site / E-Commerce

We'd like a custom field to appear on the customer's shipping or billing address page only if certain criteria apply. If State=X, display the field. If State is not X, hide the field.

Would we need custom code, or is there a way to do this out of the box?
