Regarding the sub categories attached to the Welcome Page..

Why doesn't the Welcome Page sub-categories display in the left side navigation, on the Welcome page?

Example...

The Welcome Page has 3 sub categories, why doesn't the 3 Categories display in the left side Navigation?
