Instructions for adding links to share via Facebook, Twitter etc.
Hi all,
I spent the day today trying to get links for our customers to share items on facebook, twitter and other social networking sites.
Here's how to do it.
1. Sign up at www.addthis.com. You don't need to sign up, but you'll get analytic data if you do.
2. Go to "get the button" and copy the code.
3. Paste the code where you want it in your item drill down template. You could add the code to each item manually, but that's a lot of extra work.
4. If you want to force facebook et al. to use an exact description and thumbnail then you'll need to add some code to the Meta Tag HTML on the Store tab of the item record. The code looks like this:
