Netsuite vs. email
Problem: Pointing mindplace.com to our new Netsuite hosted site causes our mindplace email to stop working.
Details:
Using cnames in the DNS tools on our domain registrar Dotster.com, we pointed Mindplace.com to shopping.netsuite.com last Friday, and this worked; the new site was briefly up. However, Dotster required that we use new nameservers to accomplish this, in the series ns1.nameresolve.com, etc.
Changing the nameservers caused our email to cease functioning, because our email server is located at our original website host, readyhosting.com (which uses nameservers ns5.readyhosting.com, etc.)
We tried to remedy this by dropping cnames and using an 'A record' to point to the Netsuite shopping URL IP address, which is 167.216.129.13, and an mx record to point to the ip address for readyhosting.com's email server, which is 65.254.254.50. It appeared that we could then access our email via webmail (only), but the Netsuite site did not re-appear after one day.
