Since 2008 - Still not implemented - why?
Back in 2008 I know there was a lot of discussion around certain (and likely simple) fixes to customer center external forms and permissions. Now, re-visiting for a client, my tests prove none of them have changed.
1. Customer Center Roles: Limited to Contact and Cases. Cannot search for a customer (or sub-customer). I have had the need for a parent customer to search for a sub-customer to display values on that sub-customer record in an external sales order form, yet, when I perform a nlapiLookupField or nlapiSearchRecord on record type 'customer', I get a permissions error. Yet, I cannot go into the Customer Center role and allow Lists > Customers! Why is this limited? Why can't I allow (at least via script!) to lookup Partners, Vendors, Customers, etc on an external sales order form? Tried saved
