Want to have customer purchase something, get something else free - Any ideas?

Does anyone know how to setup a promotion for the webstore where when a customer purchases a specific item, they get another specific item free.  I was thinking that this was suppose to be a feature of release 2010.1, but I can't find anything about it.

Worse case, I guess I'll setup a new kit that has both of these items in it.
