Items In Cart/Cart Contents

Using the site analytics module, you can see the items in the cart in both a Shopping Cart search (or join) and on the lead/customer record under the Cart Contents subtab. However, there seems to be no way to get the quantity of a specific item in the cart via search. Also tried all methods to access the cart contents tab on the customer record.

Anyone have any luck in getting this data to be used in a script?
