Webstore registration - Check for existing customer
Hey guys, I'll start off by saying i'm pretty frustrated with this.
Currently, webstore registration is extremely locked down and we can't customize the process. Only available customization we have is maybe client side.
Out of the box, registration process creates Lead and finally converts them to customer after purchase.
There is NO WAY to catch this before they register. We have to depend on Manual dedupe to catch these folks. I have added user even script to try to do on the fly deduping. This is not bad if existing customer is a lead, i can simply merge them since leads won't have transaction against it.
