session variables for Netsuite website

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering how would one go about setting a session variable within a Netsuite website ?

simple on so many other platforms and other languages, however i just wish to set a simple session var or cookie variable from the server so we can verify if the user has been browsing the site for use with other scripts ?

Is there  a simple method i can call to set a session var ?
