Can I email attachments from the downloadable files in the web site hosting files?

in Web Site / E-Commerce

We have files (datasheets, manuals, brochures, etc)  in Web Site Hosting Files > Live Hosting Files > docs which we display on our web store items for download.

We would like to at times email to customers the same files, but we are unable to attach files from Web Site Hosting Files.

Can you help?  I must have a preference setting incorrect or something.
