Reference Cart: Max allowed quantity not being restricted at the moment

in Web Site / E-Commerce

Friends,
I have observed that after moving to reference checkout the max allowed quantity restriction is removed for an item.

ie. one can order any number of products even when they are not available to order, i am not sure but is it a defect or some setting i am missing.
