Default item thumbnail for {storedisplaythumbnail}

Is there a way to specify a default item thumbnail for the standard {storedisplaythumbnail} field?

Occasionally someone here makes a new item and overlooks the thumbnail field. It causes errors during checkout. I'd like to specify a generic "image not available" jpg as the default thumbnail for all new items.  Possible?  We use site builder.
