SCA Get users status

in Web Site / E-Commerce

Anyone found a simple, reliable way of getting the user status in a .tpl file?
For example if I wanted to show/hide a div on the homepage dependent on whether the user was logged in or not... My SCA is configured to only show prices to logged in users - so "isPriceEnabled" should (in theory) be good enough, but it doesn't work...
