Changing the accounts receivable account

Hi,

I have two departments in my company and i would like to run two accounts receivable accounts.  We have different items for each department so i want to be able to tell the item which accounts reveivable account to use but i can't find how to do it.

I have tried setting the a/r accounts to be restricted to each department and the same with the items but i don't get the desired effect.

can anyone help?
