Revenue Recognition - Variable Method is Not Working

Sheila in Support has tried very hard but neither of us can get this to start. She is still trying to connect with the NetSuite expert on this functionality.
The setup includes applying the RR schedule to a service item that has milestones and is set to create a job. Upon completing all steps prescribed (save and fulfil of the SO, bulk create of the project, billing the SO, logging time against 2 of the 4 job tasks and marking those tasks as Completed), neither the RR schedule nor the Create JV form show any revenue recognition pending. The status on the job shows Pending and the RR Schedule status shows Not Started. Changing the status of the job to In Progress did not have any impact.
