Last Purchase Price pulled from PO only?

We have a problem thats making our financials go wrong. All our profit calculations are based on the Last Purchase Price of an item.
Now many times, in our business, we have to fulfill a requirement by making an inventory adjustment (we cut bigger rolls into smaller which a customer needs).
Now because of this, the Last Purchase Price gets set to the rate entered during Inventory adjustment.

Is there a way to have the Last Purchase Price pull the price from only Purchase Order transactions and not Inventory Adjustments?
