how to generate a list of transactions per employee?

fellow Netsuite users,

For our employees we have the following transactions:
write cheque
make journal entries

I want to generate a list of all transactions grouped per employee.

Let's take employee "Jane Doe"
On the "write cheque" transactions:
the entity name is "jane doe"
the entity line name is "unassigned"

On the journal entries, it's the other way around:
the entity name is "unassigned"
the entity line name is "jane doe"

So, when I generate the list of transactions I see either the cheques or the j.e.-s listed under "unassigned" instead of under the employee's name. Not very useful.
