Commit Items to customer without creating a sales order?
I'm just trying to see if anyone has any best practices or solutions for a recent problem we're facing in Netsuite. We've started to get customers creating large (what we call) stocking orders. Basically they place an order for 1000 widgets, but that order could take 3 months to fulfill. Generally, we ship it out in smaller chunks over a couple of months. To do this, we create one large SO for 1000 widgets. As the customers need inventory, we create an additional SO for 100 widgets, ship it out, and update the original large SO to reduce quantity and commitment of those items.
