Disability Deduction from payroll
New York State allows for a deduction from an employees paycheck to help cover the cost of the disability insurance policy. The basis for this calculation is 1/2 of 1% of the gross wages not to exceed .60 per week. The payroll system used prior to NetSuite calculated this deduction automatically. In the NetSuite payroll, a fixed .60 per week is deducted and then a manual adjustment has be to made if an employees gross is less than the $120.
