Accounting for Donations

We are new to NS.  How do I account for donations to customers? (Customer Relations)

I have products that I would like to donate to a customer for a fundraiser. I place a SO, the items are fulfilled and an invoice is generated.    I have a G/L account for Donations and would like to associate this transaction with this G/L account.

Any suggestions on a best practice for this?
