Amount Field Calculation?

Our billing works as follows:

Price/Unit/Month X Units = Fee/Month X Months = Amount.

While we were able to create a custom field to calculate our view of amount, that solution fails as the Amount field is what is used by NetSuite throughout the financial modules.

Is there any way to change how the Amount field is calculated so it would be Fee/Month (custom field) x Months (custom field).
