RESTlet and Cross Domain Scripting

Is there any way to access RESTlets using jQuery and AJAX? I can't seem to work around the 'Origin is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Origin' restriction. Has anyone else been able to get scripted calls to RESTlets to work? Outside of NS, I mean.
